It takes some people longer than others to learn their lesson. Marcus Wayne Hunt is one of those people. For years, he’s been on the wrong side of the law, and as a result, he’s been arrested on multiple occasions.
But his latest arrest may have set a world record.
Marcus Hunt was released from Florida’s state prison in December of 2011, but it wouldn’t be long before he found himself behind bars again. On April 14, 2012, the 22-year-old man from Tampa, FL was arrested for attempting to elude a police officer and not having a valid driver’s license. However, he was released from the Hillsborough County Jail that same day.
Most people would tread lightly after an incident like this.
Not Marcus Hunt.
A mere 16 minutes after his release – yes 16 minutes! – he punched a man in the face and stole his $190 bike. Detectives from T.P.D. quickly tracked him down and arrested him on robbery charges.
Marcus Hunt is a repeat offender; he keeps doing the same sinful thing over and over and over again. But he’s not the first repeat offender God has dealt with. Take a look at what He says in Psalm 81:8-14.
Hear, O my people, and I will warn you – if you would but listen to me, O Israel! You shall have no foreign god among you; you shall not bow down to an alien god. I am the LORD your God, who brought you up out of Egypt. Open wide your mouth and I will fill it.
But my people would not listen to me; Israel would not submit to me. So I gave them over to their stubborn hearts to follow their own devices. If my people would but listen to me, if Israel would follow my ways, how quickly would I subdue their enemies and turn my hand against their foes!
At some point, all of us – Marcus Hunt included – must finally learn our lesson.
