It’s a little-known fact that civilian life is filled with gadgets and tools that actually originated from military applications. Items like GPS navigation, cell phones, and of course, those 8 miles-per-gallon hummers, all had their start in war zones! But it’s not just “stuff.” The military has cranked out some great advice, as well.
Here are some “gems” from the front lines that have stood the test of time…and gunfire.
10. If you find yourself in a fair fight, you didn’t plan correctly.
9. Always aim toward the enemy.
8. Don’t draw fire. It irritates those around you.
7. Any ship can be a minesweeper…once.
6. It is generally inadvisable to eject over an area you just bombed.
5. If the enemy is in range, so are you.
4. When the pin is pulled, Mr. Grenade is no longer our friend.
3. Tracers work both ways.
2. Friendly fire…isn’t.
1. A Purple Heart proves that you were smart enough to think of a plan, stupid enough to try it, and lucky enough to survive it.
Pretty good advice, huh? You can always recognize good advice in life. It’s the advice that actually works!
Which piece of advice is your favorite? Any others you know of?
