Ruth Graham had many relationships and many responsibilities. She married young, supported her husband as he became an international figure, raised their kids, and volunteered in Rev. Graham’s crusades. Among many attributes, she was known for her tremendous work ethic and her stinging sense of humor.
Following Ruth’s death in June of 2007, friends and family members reminisced about the late wife of world-renowned evangelist, Billy Graham.
Former first lady, and close personal friend, Barbara Bush recounted a time when Ms. Graham was asked by a writer, if – as a Christian – she had ever contemplated divorce.
Barbara quoted the pastor’s wife: “Divorce? No. Murder? Yes.”
