Ryan called his mother and excitedly told her that he had just met the woman of his dreams, but wanted her counsel about what to do next. “Send her flowers, and on the card, invite her to your place for a home-cooked meal,” she said. So, Ryan did everything his mother told him to do.
But it just went downhill from there.
The next morning, after the big date, Ryan’s mother called to see how things had gone. “The evening was a disaster,” Ryan moaned.
“Why is that? Did she not show up?” asked his worried mother.
“Oh, she came over, alright, but she refused to cook!”
Perhaps Ryan wouldn’t have been so disappointed had he remembered the Apostle Paul’s words from 1 Corinthians 13:5…
